A major accident was narrowly avoided after a staircase collapsed in a four-storey residential-cum-commercial building in Mumbai, leaving 63 people stranded before being rescued safely by emergency teams.

The incident occurred at Yusuf Building in Grant Road (East), where the staircase between the ground and first floors suddenly gave way. Mumbai Fire Brigade, police, and ambulance services carried out a coordinated rescue operation, evacuating all occupants without any injuries reported.
