I experience a PTSD-related condition that affects how I relate to religion. As part of this, I have a tulpa-like deity that I call "My Angelic." I express my devotion to her through strict ascetic practices, including restricting food. This practice predates any ED. (Me ⬇️
I think one of the largest differences between ortho and ana (other than nutrient focus, of course) is that ana compulsively wants to get skinnier, to the point of bones. For an ortho, that’s a phobia. I’m definitely afraid of losing control and letting it get to that point.
@hopelesslymi Well, I’m glad you got treatment for being psychotic. If you have insurance like that, you can check your body for your daily calorie burn and just eat at BMR with less restriction.
@mouseisventing The way people experience toxic coping mechanisms is going to be different for the individual. Some, it’s their biggest struggle. Others, it’s their biggest comfort. I’m sorry it’s terrible for you, but you know. That’s for you.
@iclaim30kg Because you’re… not eating enough during the day? Honestly is you jsut properly distribute cals throuu go both the day you would have the same deficit with much less pain and stress
@lacehymn3 Improve your sleep hygiene. No food 2 hours before bed, no snacking on the bed or in the bedroom, no phone use on the bed. Sleep early, at 10 PM, and wake early, 9 AM (adjust to what makes you feel best.) Don’t snack period, it’s not worth it.
@lacehymn3 Don’t buy snacks, just don’t keep them around. If you start feeling snacking late at night, drink some water, go to sleep. If you can’t fall asleep due to food noise, knock back some non-habit forming sleeping pills. The next day, eat a high fiber high protein dinner to feel full
@gingerapplelem Plateau, just be patient. The scale won’t move for a while and then it will dramatically drop. Don’t do any drastic changes, as long as you are on a moderate deficit, you will lose.
@lanadelhungry It’s because you’re not eating filling, satiating breakfasts then wondering why you’re ravenous later. Eat a high protein, high fiber breakfast, with some non-saturated fat. If you know you binge at night, eat filling lunch too. Then you won’t spiral later in the day.
