Mattéo Guendouzi: “If 60,000 people are insulting your family, your mother and your children before the match has even started, and none of the referees or other stadium officials says a word…
In France, when things like this happen, they speak to the fans and tell them to stop, or else the match could be halted.
But here, for more than 90 minutes, including during the warm up, they insulted my family, my wife and my children. It was a situation that really got to me and deeply affected me.
For me, it was complete disrespect. And on top of that, if we can’t even celebrate the way we want, then to me that’s completely unfair. It’s a truly heartbreaking situation.”
