Schwerin Castle, known as the 'Neuschwanstein of the North', has been granted UNESCO #WorldHeritage status.

The castle was once a training centre for kindergarten teachers in the GDR. Today, it houses the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and its administration.
