A voice that spoke when others were silent,
A heart that carried a nationโs dream,
A spirit unbowed through every storm.
Your legacy will forever light Kenyaโs path. ๐ฐ๐ช
This is Ruth Mwelu Mbula
She was 69years
She was a jovial lady, many people remember her for running her food business with her daughter near Blue Sky - Ruaka.
On Friday, Ruth left her house to go to the market at around 5am in the morning. Her body was found dumped in a ditch.
According to her autopsy's report, she was raped, sodomized and strangled to death.

The chilling reality in Kenya today is that a woman is murdered approximately every 18 hours. This isn't a random occurrence; it's a symptom of a systemic failure to protect women from gender-based violence.
Our homes, meant to be safe havens, are too often the sites of unimaginable brutality. Our workplaces, where we contribute our skills and labor, can become dangerous environments. Even the simple act of commuting carries the threat of violence. Women are not safe, and this is a direct indictment of a society that continues to normalize and excuse violence against us.
What can we do?
We must dismantle the patriarchal structures that enable this violence. We need stronger laws and their consistent enforcement. We need comprehensive support systems for survivors. We need to challenge the cultural attitudes that devalue women's lives. We need to hold perpetrators accountable at every level. The safety of women is not a privilege; it is a fundamental human right, and we must fight relentlessly until it is realized.
Our call to action :
1) Sign the petition demanding the government to recognize and criminalize Femicide as the distinct gender based crime that it is.

2) Participate in The Femicide Taskforce: Check the dates when they are scheduled to come in your area. (Schedule attached)
We must end FEMICIDE in Kenya

THE LAND LAWS AMENDMENT BILL, NO. 2 OF 2023
This is a thread highlighting the (evil) amendments proposed to be introduced to our land laws by "the Bill".
1/ Section 48 of the amendment bill introduces an amendment to the Land Act, no 6 of 2012 by introducing Section 28A
Hey guys, so those asking for a summary of my statements, here it is:
The current crop of tax policy has been fourfold:
Taxes on trade - reduce investment and capital outlay
Taxes on consumers - reduce consumer spending power and thus jobs
Complication of business and compliance - Reduces compliance, boosts black market, discourages trade
Fickle and unstable taxes - Investors make investments based on one situation, but the situation changes suddenly even before the first stone of the factory is cast
I also mentioned that taxes on imports is not always good because a large part of exports are made up of imported raw materials.
Finally, eTIMS makes it difficult for large businesses to support small businesses when the latter cannot submit eTIMS receipts (which they have no knowledge of).
