The Flood Tablet, actually the 11th tablet of the Gilgamesh Epic, dates back to 7th century BC and made international news in 1872. George Smith, cuneiform scholar at the @britishmuseum, translated this story of a Flood that bears a very close resemblance to the biblical account.
I atttended a fantastic lecture in Oxford last week with Professor Laurence Schiffman on 'The Dead Sea Scrolls and Rabbinic Judaism. Funny, enlightening and packed with marvelous up to date content. Brilliant !
