This is big: A new article in @Nature shows that already at current emissions, "the world economy is committed to an income reduction of 19% within the next 26 years independent of future emission choices."
This is a GDP loss of almost one fifth.

@ummodern Germany is very happy … their solidarity with Israel got a little shaky. Now that there is Iran to blame, they go back to usual business <3
Today is "Holy Friday"
Christians commemorate the crucifixion/death of Jesus. No dancing, no partying, but traditionally fasting, Church & silence. I grew up as atheist, a little Buddhist, but always thought the left should respect progressive religions: https://t.co/waERO5ZkWH

Gut geschlagen @Nora_Salem_Dr
What is Left Conservatism?
Left conservatism divides the left, but can take away voters from right-wing populist parties, because it bridges left and right elements.
Are YOU a left conservative?

Anh Chí is one of the 🇻🇳 democracy activists that I particularly appreciate. He is intellectual, critical of the past AND the present, respectful towards scholars & always tries to see the global. He is NOT a nationalist& not an anti-communist, but straightforward a democrat.
Religion buttressed patriarchy in 3 ways:
- rituals strengthened fraternal solidarity
- religions preached male dominance & female obedience, while glorifying motherhood
- while threatening disobedience with eternal punishment.

In 2019, not a few people believed that Prabowo, by his reliance on hyper-religious and ethnic bigotry, risked placing Indonesia’s secular democracy on the death bed. In 2024, he comfortably attains power with the informal support of Jokowi, whom “saved” Indonesia in 2019.
