@k8talois Hey, Katie! I always understood it to be like Cockney rhyming slang with 86 rhyming with “nix.” I know there’s a bunch of origin stories but it makes sense since “nix” was around in 18thC Britain and stemmed from the German “nichts” (meaning nothing.)
