We need to incorporate literature and curriculum that include Indigenous culture that is age appropriate in every classroom. Indigenous culture needs to be represented in an ethical, culturally appropriate way.#Shelfietalk

I understand why many Indigenous communities continue to have social, emotional, and economic struggles. The Canadian government stripped Indigenous communities of basic human rights causing many issues that will take time understanding and empathy to resolve. #Shelfietalk

A deeply disturbing part of Canadian history. A truth that must be told and truly listened to. A must read for anyone who anyone who wants to be a part of the road to reconciliation and be informed and understand the mistreatment of Indigenous people and communities.
