We had a lovely day exploring Oslo.
The first and second photos were taken at the Botanic Garden.
Of course I was drawn to the greenhouses. I do love a greenhouse ๐๐๐
The giant water Lilly was in bud but hadnโt opened unfortunately. There were some beautiful cactus flowering.
Good morning from Oslo.๐ณ๐ด
Iโm here visiting Mr N
Oslo is a very vibrant city
It also has a lot of very beautiful bedding and perennial planters situated everywhere.
The rudbeckia and echinacea are stunning.
Flowers make anywhere special.

Hope you have a good Sunday. โค๏ธ
I pulled up a garlic bulb to see how they were and voila, not too bad. ๐๐๐
This variety is Early Purple Wight and it was planted at the end of October Last year. Iโve been very lucky that the rust which is prominent on other allotments hasnโt struck my garlic ๐ง

When is it time to give up on your chard?
Well if you check out photo number 2 this gives you an idea. ๐ณ๐ณ๐ณ๐ณ
Itโs not actually my chard, itโs my allotment neighbours. She pulled it all out yesterday.
You could eat the flower spikes if you wanted to.
#gardening
@NELincsChaplain You can wilt them in some boiling water or steam them and then fry in garlic and olive oil and then add them to pasta. Or you can make Scafata which is Broad beans, tomato, onion and chard flowers. Delicious ๐
@NELincsChaplain Iโd love to hear if you ever do eat the spikes Mary. Yes, chard is a short lived perennial so it can go on and on forever if it reseeds. Fantastic ๐
Morning everybody.
Well, I made it through the night even though it wasnโt pleasant.
Considering I was only bitten 3 times by the bees they sure do pack a punch.
Itโs very unfortunate that the poor little bees have died.
Did you know that only female honey bees have stingers?
Well, I learnt an interesting lesson today.
Donโt smile and walk leisurely past the bee keeper while they are attending to a hive.
Instead run for your life ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐
Have you ever been swarmed by very disgruntled bees?

Here is what we were talking about on @BBCRadioLincs this morning on the Gardening Programme
Frog Spit or Spittle bugs
The spittlebugs suck sap and the bubbles they secrete causes the spit effect

Good Morning and Happy Saturday
๐ชด๐
Hope you have a really good day.
The weather here doesn't look too bad.
How are your potatoes going?
๐ฅ๐ฅ
My first earlies are nearly all flowering so that is
very exciting.

I was pleasantly surprised to find some love Rainbow Chard growing next to my massive Mustard Greens when I took off the fleece cloche.
Not only have I started another batch in the greenhouse, I now have some to eat as well.
I donโt like being without this fabulous green leaf.
The first of the Broad Beans are setting. ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ
This variety is Aquadulce Claudia.
It is a very hardy variety so is ideal to sow from late Autumn.
I sowed the seeds back in February and kept them in the greenhouse until they were big enough to plant out.
