यहां हर स्वतंत्रता सेनानी को क़ैद करने के लिए अलग-अलग कोठरी थी और कोई भी एक-दूसरे से बात न कर सकें इसलिए उनको अलग-अलग रखा जाता था, अंग्रेज़ चाहते थे एकांत में रहने से स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों का आत्मविश्वास कम हो !

भारत के वीर स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों को अंग्रेजों द्वारा दी गई सेल्युलर जेल यानी काला पानी जेल की सज़ा कितनी भयानक थी?

1) ब्रिटिश राज के दौरान जिन भारतीय स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों के आंदोलन से अंग्रेज सबसे ज्यादा डरते थे, उन्हें पकड़कर भारतीय मुख्य भूमि से दूर अंडमान द्वीप पर स्थित काला-पानी जेल में कैद कर दिया गया और अमानवीय यातनाएं दी गईं।
