Bluesky users in Texas subject to age verification

Users of the social network Bluesky who log in from Texas IP addresses are reporting being subject to age-gating, amid a state law that targets mobile app stores with liability if minors view explicit content on apps like social networks. 

According to users, they are being met with an action screen prompting them to verify their age and identity by requesting the last four numbers of a user's social security number, a credit card confirmation through Stripe, or an ID scan using age verification provider Veriff.

Our police, fire, and public employee unions are on the chopping block thanks to "master" negotiator and gubernatorial candidate Andy Biggs.

Senator Jake Hoffman and legislative Republicans inserted the language into HCR2040 that blocks the state and all local governments from negotiating with ANY labor organization. But instead of fixing this attack on public safety and employees, Biggs and Hoffman doubled down, flushing the compromise deal down the toilet.

Democrats stood ready to rescind this disastrous ballot referral, but Republicans sputtered and failed under a complete absence of leadership. Let’s not forget.
