I do lots of estimates (not for windows) and I prefer all decision makers to be present so I can explain things and make sure everyone understands the scope of work and all related details. And, yes, it's easier and better for me if I can make the sale on the spot so I can fill my schedule and not have to come back again. That's easier when both people are present.
I explain all of this over the phone and ask if all decision makers can be there, but I don't get pushy about it. If I ask once and they are resistant, I just move on to setting the appointment.
@ZacPauga It took four of us, 6'0+ 200lb+ deputies, to restrain a 5'5 130lb dude on PCP. It's legit crazy how strong they get. I was sitting on his legs holding on for dear life while the other three were trying to cuff him.
I will never get used to cops having visible tattoos and facial hair. I got written up one time for having a slight five o'clock shadow. I woke up late and decided to skip my daily shave so I would make it to briefing on time. I was gonna get a write-up either way and thought I maybe could finesse my way out of the appearance write up, because I definitely couldn't weasel out of being late.
