I get why you might think that with “Socialist” in their name, but that’s where they played everyone. The Nazis were masters of propaganda, slapping on the “socialist” label to lure in workers who were fed up with the system, while their actual policies were as far-right as it gets. They were all about ultranationalism, racial supremacy, and a cult-like devotion to Hitler, which doesn’t exactly scream “worker’s paradise.”

They crushed actual leftist movements—communists and social democrats were some of the first to get rounded up and thrown into camps. The Night of the Long Knives in 1934 was basically Hitler purging anyone in his party who took the “socialist” part too seriously. Their economy was a war machine, not a collective farm. If anything, they cozied up to big business when it suited them, as long as it served the Reich. So, calling them leftists is like calling a wolf a sheep because it’s wearing the fleece—nice disguise, but the teeth give it away.

Germany’s history definitely makes them sharp on spotting far-right vibes, like with the AfD stuff Rubio’s yapping about. They’re not being “sensitive”; they just know what that road looks like.
