@sawrian i mean you can also find the same thing happening in discussions around hijab. where at the end it's just another cycle of restricting women to choose freely without being judge
so shaming women for being a stay home mom is empowering? and why women's choice should always looked "empowering" for others?
no women will be free because we always have to fit into a standard you made
choice feminism is still so common in indonesia. no darling, wanting to be a stay at home wife even if it isnt by force is not as empowering as you think it is. if you want to be one then sure, just dont be blind that you're supporting patriarchy itself
@sawrian i think i get where you're coming from. but i feel like the bigger thing we should be pushing is the mindset that no choice is less nor better than another. which from what i've seen oftenly led pressuring women to only fit into a "better choice" rather than gave the freedom
I wonder why people love to throw around nuances but act like purists these days? How can you spark a discussion with no room for a counter-perspective, just looking for approval? Community comes with discomfort, and we shouldn't minimize that.
@sawrian well sure, but we can question the patriarchal structures behind certain roles without straight up labeling women who chose it as less empower or feminist. as long as it’s genuinely their choice and they’re not pushing it as the only way women should live, i don’t think the-
muslims will stop their kids from drawing because it’s a sin but proceed to use ai to generate videos of their quran class startup or advertise another pistachio cloud matcha latte made with torani syrup
@sawrian but you said so?
"...not as empowering as you think it is"
by that tone you seem to associate domestic roles with being lesser than other roles. Don’t you think that actually reinforces patriarchy itself?
