@RachelC10425502 @AerLingus Fly non-direct (if necessary) on any airline or combination of airlines; keep your receipts, keep costs reasonable, they have to reimburse you for flights, hotels, food, drink, and transfers under EU261 regs.; it's not your problem, it's very much theirs.

@TonyKen29034893 @AerLingus If you can, book onto another airline and keep receipts and a record of communication. This is a complete breach of EU Reg 261 under which they're supposed to book you onto the next available flight, even if its another carrier. They legally have to reimburse you.

@SandraC39882149 @AerLingus As long as costs are reasonable, you're covered under Eu Reg 261. So as in, don't book the Merrion Hotel but if you have to pay higher than normal for a hotel near the airport because everyone is trying to, you're fine. Remember, this is very much their problem, not ours.

@jillwallin @AerLingus I ran into an issue like this one time- based on my experience, it may actually be up to United to reroute you if you booked with them, since they outsourced that leg of the trip to Aer Lingus. I hope you get sorted soon!

@tania_reut @VirginMediaNews That's me- was booked onto flight EI 123 to Chicago yesterday. Told to leave airport at 2.15, two staff members confirmed that the flight was cancelled, it now appears to have flown.
