How do search teams cover large areas while ensuring no stone is left unturned?

In this video, one of our officers explains the various search methods we and our partners are using in the search for Parker.

These efforts are supported by specialized and traditional techniques and teams that include coordinated ground searches, RPAS (drone) operations and dedicated canine teams. These resources help search areas that may be difficult to access on foot and provide additional perspectives as teams continue to search for Parker.

The terrain and current heat conditions have made this work particularly challenging. In some areas, searchers are positioned closely together to ensure no potential clue, evidence or point of interest is overlooked.

Every search operation is carefully planned using investigative information, search management principles and lost person behaviour research. Together, officers, partner agencies and trained search volunteers continue working tirelessly toward one goal: finding Parker.

While foraging in a Philippine forest, Marven Linoy stumbled upon a critically endangered Philippine Eagle being attacked by over 30 monkeys. He barked like a dog to scare the troop away, covered the injured bird with his jacket, and called for help.

Rescuers from the Philippine Eagle Foundation found the bird severely dehydrated and wounded. X-rays later revealed a darker backstory: she had two pellets lodged in her body and rope burns on her legs, indicating she had been shot and trapped prior to the monkey attack.

Now named Sawaga-Dalwangan, the eagle is receiving intensive veterinary care. With only an estimated 400 breeding pairs left in the wild, Linoy's quick intervention saved a vital life for the species.

Today, investigators released a new CCTV image of Parker that was captured on Thursday, July 16, at 12:52 p.m., in the 5000 to 6000 block of Travis Crescent N.E. We are hopeful the image will help generate new leads & assist members of the public in recognizing Parker & reporting information about his whereabouts.

Since Parker was reported missing, the CPS has dedicated significant resources to locating him. More than 200 CPS members have assisted in the search effort, including investigators, patrol officers & specialized units working around the clock to follow up on leads & search areas where Parker may have travelled. We have received approx. 30 tips & have reviewed, or are currently reviewing, roughly 50 hours of CCTV, residential security camera & dashcam footage. Officers have also conducted extensive door-to-door inquiries & continue to identify, collect & review additional video footage & evidence related to Parker's movements.

Approx. 100 to 120 trained search volunteers coordinated through Search & Rescue Alberta joined ongoing search operations in N.W. Calgary. As these efforts continue, members of the public may see a significant police & search presence in the area, including the Air Support Unit, Canine Unit, Mounted Patrol Team, Mountain Bike Unit, patrol officers, investigators & trained search volunteers.

We are truly grateful for the support shown by Calgarians. Residents can assist by checking their own properties, including garages, sheds, backyards, under decks & other areas where a child may seek shelter or hide.

We know Parker loves Disney music, so officers are playing some of his favourite songs from patrol vehicles in the search area in the hope that it may help draw his attention and encourage him to come out if he is nearby.
