The season ends for the Antigo American Legion baseball team with a tough 2-0 pitchers duel loss to Rhinelander in todays regional final in Merrill.

An exciting day of baseball in Merrill as the Antigo American Legion team has advanced to the finals of regional play.

After a well played 5-3 loss to Rhinelander, the Typhoon takes down Medford 5-4. A Mason Gray single ties it and Will Kubeny walks it off with a sacrifice fly.

The Typhoon will face Rhinelander in the winners bracket tomorrow at 12:30. Rhinelander edged Medford 2-1 in the nights first game.

The Antigo Red Robins continue to fill up their coaching vacancies, as Tyler Lorenz has been named the new varsity baseball coach.

Lorenz is the longtime co-head coach for Three Lakes-Phelps and replaces Alex Heiny, who stepped down at season’s end.

The Antigo Red Robins have a new varsity hockey coach, as longtime youth coach Brian Bunnell has accepted the position.

Bunnell, who also spent time with the Northern Edge girls team, replaces Matt Borneman, who stepped down in May after 9 years.

Rhinelander assistant Shaun Smith is the new boys basketball coach, while recent AHS grad Isaac Kramer takes over the cross country position.
