@moneyacademyKE EFR is actually purchasing Base Resources, the ASX listed company based in Perth. The motivation for the transaction is two fold: 1. Base’s Madagascar mineral sands and monazite project (Base Toliara); and 2. Base’s ability to execute mining projects to world best standards.
The largest mine in 🇰🇪 and leading mining sector environment, social and governance best practice in Africa - a pleasure to visit 🇦🇺’s @BaseTitanium in Kwale with our friend the 🇸🇪 Ambassador @SwedeninKE.
The Overall Excellence in Best Practice Award recognised Base’s efforts in the environmental, social, governance arena more broadly and was a wonderful endorsement of Base’s operational model and the effort by all our wonderful employees and partners.

The Economy Award recognised Base for positively impacting the livelihoods of neighbouring communities and fostering economic opportunity through its Community Seed Program, where seeds are purchased from the community for rehabilitation efforts.
To be awarded 3 of these awards is a remarkable recognition of our commitment to sustainability and best practice.
Base was given the Transparency Award for its initiatives in combating modern slavery in its supply chains and displaying a high degree of respect for human rights.
Mining Indaba is the pre-eminent African focused mining event and Base was proud to fly the Kenyan flag on such an important international stage.
Each year a panel of experts award just 9 Responsible Resourcing Awards to mining companies operating in Africa.
Base is honoured to have been recognized for its achievement in overall best practices, transparency and economic contribution to the community at the recently concluded Mining Indaba in Cape Town.
The government of Tanzania will build 2000km of railway lines, 2115mw of electricity and 86,472km of new roads as the mining sector in the country expands #whyafrica
@TonnyLegal@BaseTitanium@Waziri_Mvurya@psmining_ke@MiBeMa_2022 The ore reserve will be depleted by Dec 2024 and mining will then stop (minerals have run out). Base will remain responsible for its environmental and rehabilitation obligations which take some time to fulfil.
The Top Exporter Award is presented to @BaseTitanium for demonstrating exceptional compliance with Customs regulations, timely filing of returns, and handling high export volumes.
We thank you for your contribution to building Kenya.

The Shilling to the dollar was controlled/fixed during the tenure of Gov Njoroge on orders from President Uhuru and was overvalued by 35%. That process became untenable and led to shortage and the rebirth of the black market, which showed the true value. 145 to 150 to the dollar is Today's market value. No one can do anything about that. If you want the shilling to appreciate then increase exports, expand the manufacturer base, reduce imports and stop governors, judges and CSs, PSs, state corporations officials from stealing public money.
I was in #Kwale County this week, together with @USAmbKenya, for an insightful visit to the mineral sands mining project operated by @BaseTitanium - the largest mining project in 🇰🇪.
Australia-based @baseresources is the parent company of @BaseTitanium.
The government that continues to approve and subsidise the expansion of the fossil fuel industry is refusing to release this report on the risk climate change poses to our national security.
Why?
