When I say i have CPTSD, what I really mean is:
I dissociate mid convo and sometimes I don't know why.
I can’t tell if someone’s being nice or manipulating me.
I replay conversations in my mind for hours.
I expect pain and abandonment constantly.
I want love but I am afraid to be vulnerable.
I never feel safe, even when I am.
The pain isn't only in my mind, it's in my body, too.
My oldest niece just told me “what you’re afraid of isn’t real - Daddy said why you’re wearing your mask isn’t real, it’s fake”
and it broke my fucking heart.
it came out of nowhere, and it’s really weighing me down right now.
my masking in every class has absolutely resulted in my professors and even some peers masking when they feel the slightest bit sick. it's something! we can't give up. every little thing is a ripple effect and slowly changes stuff. it's so much to think about the big pic ur right
I was wearing a Zimi mask when I went for a procedure last year and the nurse checking me in didn't believe my blood oxygen was at 100% and took it again to try to prove I couldn't possibly be getting such oxygen in a mask. 🤷♀️ Broadly, healthcare workers do not understand air.
Does anyone else with ADHD or neurodivergent get so overstimulated that you can literally feel yourself getting irritated at everything? I don’t even want to be mad and half the time nothing is actually wrong my brain just decided everything is too much at once and now I’m pissed off
The absolute funniest part of capitalist ideology is that they somehow managed to convince everyone that “freedom” meant like.…. the freedom to choose between 47 kinds of shampoo, and not like.….. the freedom to quit a job you hatė without losing your health insurance.
Part of my autistic experience is that I love explanations.
I like to know the “why”.
Explanations can help me to:
- see where people are coming from
- understand the bigger picture
- approach tasks more purposefully.
Therapy helps but let's be clear. You can't CBT your way out of capitalism. You can't mindfulness your way out of racism. You can't self care your way out of oppression. You can't journal your way out of ableism. We can discuss coping, but let’s also discuss deconstructing the systems.
Remember when they sold us the slogan, “Go paperless, save trees, save the planet”?
Now we've gone digital, and it's consuming enormous amounts of water, destroying ecosystems, harming bees, and contributing to environmental damage on a scale paper never did.
actually I have friends who are trans men and friends who are trans women so I know for a fact that growing up being forced to conform to our agab was violent, traumatic, and got more than a few of us killed. saying one childhood was worse than the other is stupid and reductive.
Healthy people think the medical system works because it works for them. Strep throat, a broken arm, a routine physical —It handles these well.
Chronic complex illness is a different universe. And there, the medical system fails miserably.
Wow, really terrible news.
SARS-CoV-2 has now killed both of the last two people in the United States using an iron lung:
• Paul Alexander (78) passed away on March 11, 2024, after receiving an infection in February 2024.
• Martha Lillard (also 78) passed away on June 26, 2026, from Long COVID complications.
143 combined years spent using the best medical tools at our disposal and countless resources to keep both of these folks alive, all wasted and both lives utterly and willfully discarded because healthcare professionals refuse to perform one of the most basic functions of their job — wearing quality PPE and preventing the spread of disease to “do no harm.”
A new research article just published in May found that, on average, those who died from COVID-19 could be expected to live for another 4.4 years (male) to 4.8 years (female) if they had not been infected. They also estimated that 28% of those who died over the age of 65 would have survived five years or more without the infection: https://t.co/9PM3UpqItP

I've seen how 4tranners talk about "foids", "pooners" & "theyfabs". Don't let them gaslight you, they do not respect your gender, they think you're all ungrateful women. I've also seen how they talk about "moids", "passoids"& "hons". They don't even believe other trans women.
Never did I imagine that my 25 years on earth that having a song playing on repeat in your head almost all the time isn’t something everyone experiences? Turns out it can be a form of internalized echolalia, which is common and mean you’re neurodivergent.
