Inaugurated a Defence Manufacturing Complex of a private sector company, NIBE Group, at Shirdi today. The complex intends to manufacture advanced artillery systems, missile & space technologies, rocket systems, energetic materials, and autonomous defence platforms.

India's private industries possess a deep understanding of the dynamics of future warfare and are working relentlessly to equip the country with state-of-the-art systems. Exhorted all the stakeholders to make concerted efforts towards transforming India into a global hub for munitions and automation. #WATCH | Shirdi, Maharashtra | NIBE CTO and Strategy Head, Balakrishnan Swamy, says, "This is the SkyStriker by Elbit Systems. We call its indigenised version Vayu Astra. It's a loitering ammunition with a range of 100 kilometers. It has a strike speed of more than 450 kilometers per hour... We have a tender from the Indian Army's Directorate of Artillery... We're looking forward for the commercial bid to be opened... Under the G2G (Government-to-Government) agreement, SkyStriker was procured directly by the Indian Army, and those were very successfully used during the Operation Sindoor. After that, we entered a technology collaboration agreement with Elbit Systems, wherein we are in phases of indigenising it. For the G2G, all the maintenance work is being done by NIBE locally here..."

#WATCH | Nibe Group says - Nibe Group has successfully completed the no-cost, no-commitment demonstration of its loitering munition named Vayu Astra with 100 KM Range at Pokhran on 18-19 April 2026 & Joshimath (Malari), Uttarakhand on 26-27 April 2026.

Nibe Limited’s Vayu Astra-1 Loitering Munition Anti-Personal carried out first NCNC demo successfully at Pokhran Range, Rajasthan, with 10 kg warhead in single attempt, successfully hitting the target at 100 km with CEP less than 1 m with abort attack and reattack capability of the LM. The LM is based on an Israeli loitering munition.

The team carried out Anti Armour (Anti-Tank) night strike using- IR camera and LM successfully hit the target within the 2 m CEP in a single attempt with capability of handing over the control from GCS to Forward Control Segment 70 km away was successfully demonstrated.

At Joshimath (Malari) Uttarakhand Vayu Astra-1 LM had been successfully demonstrated endurance flying more than 90 minutes high altitude loitering and endurance completed at more than 14000 Ft height and LM is recovery for next flight after completion of mission.

#WATCH | In a major boost for Indian defence forces, private sector firm Nibe Limited has successfully carried out the firing demonstration of the Suryastra rockets of 150 km and 300 Km range in ITR Chandipur Orissa. The rockets achieved CEP of 1.5 meters and 2 meters respectively during the firing trials. This demonstration is part of the procurement order placed by Indian Army on the company: Nibe Limited

Ambassador Shri Harsh Kumar Jain led a delegation of 30 Indian defence companies in a high-level interaction with the leadership of the Department of National Defense at Camp Aguinaldo on 3rd March.

In his address, Ambassador Jain highlighted the key outcomes of the India–Philippines Defence Seminar held on 2nd March and reaffirmed India’s steadfast commitment to supporting the modernization of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Self-Reliant Defense Posture (SRDP) initiative.

Hon’ble Secretary of National Defense Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr. welcomed the delegation and emphasized the potential to expand collaboration with Indian defence industries, underscoring avenues to further strengthen bilateral defence cooperation.

Participating Indian manufacturers represented a broad spectrum of sectors, including maritime and naval systems, space and aerospace, cyber defence, land defence systems, munitions and electronics, among others.

The Embassy of India, Bangkok, in association with the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, Government of India, and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM), organised a focused Defence Industry Seminar and B2B Interaction in Bangkok, Thailand, on 19th February 2026.

From 1030–1130 hrs, H.E. Mr. Nagesh Singh, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Thailand, held an exclusive interaction with the Indian defence companies to discuss the Thailand defence and aerospace ecosystem, market opportunities, regulatory landscape, and avenues for deeper industrial collaboration.

The inaugural session was graced by H.E. Mr. Nagesh Singh along with senior representatives from the Defence Technology Institute (DTI), Thailand.
The interaction witnessed strong participation from both sides, with 25 leading Indian defence industries showcasing their capabilities across aerospace, land systems, naval systems, drones and counter-drone systems, protective armour, missile systems, ammunition, simulators, and emerging defence technologies.

The structured B2B meetings and industry presentations enabled meaningful discussions between Indian and Thai defence stakeholders, highlighting significant potential for partnerships, technology collaboration, joint development, and supply chain integration.
The engagement reflected the growing momentum in India–Thailand defence cooperation and reaffirmed the shared commitment to strengthening bilateral defence industrial ties.

Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, #SouthernCommand, visited the defence manufacturing facility of NIBE Ltd at Chakan, #Pune, to review the company’s indigenous design, manufacturing and system integration capabilities.

During the visit, he interacted with the leadership and technical teams of NIBE Ltd and was briefed on the advanced infrastructure supporting Precision Cutting, Automated Welding, Vertical and Computer Numerical Control Machining and Large Structural Assembly Line. These capabilities enable the manufacturing of complex, mission-critical components for launcher assemblies, structural sub-systems and other advanced defence applications.

The Army Commander also reviewed the strategic equipment and weapon systems developed indigenously by NIBE Ltd, demonstrating the nation’s growing competence in various niche defence technologies.

The visit underscored the deepening synergy between the #IndianArmy and the Defence Industry in India for advancing indigenous capability development under the #AtmanirbharBharat initiative and aligning with the national vision of a robust and self-reliant defence ecosystem under #ViksitBharat2047.
