Did you know that November 15th will mark our fourth pop-up bike lane on Matilda Street?
It'll also be the BIGGEST Coconut Grove pop-up to-date, with @CoconutGroveBID and @CommodoreTrail joining in!
RSVP to the event (or the pre-event Painting Party) at: https://t.co/eHt9Kxdbvu
There's no substitute for #protectedbikelanes.
We know all the rational reasons why - safety, mobility, health...
...but watch a child experiencing freedom of two wheels someday, and all the effort to get that lane built will make perfect sense.

informed today by @MiamiDadeCounty that the pandemic related street closure meant to allow restaurants to recover from lockdown must be removed and reopened Jun 30. Where do you stand on the Outdoor dining vs parking spaces and car flow options?
@CoconutGroveBID@CityofMiami
The problem is we keep thinking the same system & traffic engineers will think outside the box... This is how we do it on Swanson Avenue. No stop signs, no traffic calming. No problem! @lrobertsonmiami@kenforflorida@iWalkSafe@iBikeSafe@CityofMiami
This is just a fraction of the families riding in to @GroveElem today for Bike to School Day w/@BikeGrove, and support from @RideSpin donating helmets.
Imagine how much more accommodating Matilda St. could be with a proper dual-lane cycletrack. Safety for all coming to school.
@KostelecPlan Basically an invitation to speed up... all crosswalks should be blinding pink or electric green, painted by the kids who use them. But who are we kidding? nothing will change until you have a vision zero advocate as USDOT secretary. 🤔 @MiamiBikeLawyer

@Jay_Pitter@Jay_Pitter , you are so on point. Words matter SO MUCH, no matter what community. So if planners & ped/bike, transit advocates want to move the needle, we better come up with some new words. (Because, vast majority of Americans don't relate to "cyclists")
Still waiting for someone to pull down a 30MPH posted speed limit on Swanson Avenue. (18' paved residential street) Nothing worse than posted speed limits that are unsafe for our kids. #20isPlenty
What's that you say? It's #pedestriansafetymonth and EVERYONE is a pedestrian?
Great. Here's a picture that DOESN'T blame the victim and doesn't assume every crosswalk user has perfect vision.
