Why does literally everything in fandom spaces have to become some kind of moral quandary? It's honestly one of the worst aspects of modern fandom. You aren't allowed to like the thing just because, you always have to have a virtuously acceptable reason as to why you like it.

i liked that shonen bechdel test cuz its very useful, but it also reveals that a lot of what counts as "good writing" regardless of gender is just whether or not a character gets fights which is a whole other can of worms 💀

Kagome at the start of the manga was so smart and perceptive, it's such a shame Rumiko never really fully developed that potential.

for instance, while i wish we got even more time with Winry in FMA, the fact she was offscreen doing her own thing felt more real than forcing her to tag along the *entire* story as the "girl" and "healer" of the group.
