गंगा की सेहत का पैमाना है डॉल्फिन, और आज इंसानियत ने उसका कर्ज चुकाया।

तीन दिन से महाराजगंज, गोरखपुर के परतावल के एक नहर में लगभग 7.2 फुट लंबी और 147 किलो वजनी एक गर्भवती गांगेय डॉल्फिन फंसी थी। भारत की राष्ट्रीय जलीय जीव, जिसे सदियों से गंगा की आत्मा कहा जाता रहा है, तेज बारिश से उफनती नहर में जिंदगी और मौत के बीच झूल रही थी। पहला रेस्क्यू प्रयास नाकाम भी हुआ।

डॉल्फिन सिर्फ एक जलीय जीव नहीं, नदी तंत्र की सेहत की जिंदा निशानी है। जहाँ डॉल्फिन बचती है, वहाँ नदी, उसकी मछलियां, और पूरा जल-चक्र बचता है। और उस दिन गर्भ में पल रही एक नई जिंदगी भी इसी उम्मीद पर टिकी थी।

सोमवार को वन विभाग, गोरखपुर चिड़ियाघर, टीएसए फाउंडेशन, सिंचाई विभाग और पुलिस एक साथ खड़े हुए। नमामि गंगे द्वारा संचालित गंगा डॉल्फिन रेस्क्यू एंबुलेंस के लिए भटहट से राजघाट तक 20 किमी का ग्रीन कॉरिडोर बनाया गया, ताकि रास्ते का हर पल बचाया जा सके।

एक घंटे पांच मिनट। 52 किलोमीटर। और फिर राप्ती नदी की सुरक्षित गोद जहाँ डॉल्फिन ने एक बार फिर आज़ादी की सांस ली।

एक डॉल्फिन बची, एक नन्ही जान बची, और गंगा की एक धड़कन फिर लौट आई।

Please help us reduce the cost as much as possible." I assured him I would do whatever I could to help.
​The next day, the patient's boss transferred the required funds directly via RTGS.
​After a successful surgery, I called his boss to update him: "Thank you for your support—Mr. Shukla’s surgery was successful."
​He replied, "Thank you, Doctor, for taking such good care of my colleague."
​Surprised, I asked, "Colleague? But he mentioned he works as your driver."
​He answered, "Doctor, we work together."
​"I understand, but isn't he your driver?" I asked again.

According to the Shastras, the day on which you get a haircut is believed to have an effect on Ayushya (longevity). It is said that:

- Monday (Somavara): Increases longevity by 7 months.
- Wednesday (Budhavara): Increases longevity by 5 months.
- Thursday (Guruvara): Increases longevity by 10 months.
- Friday (Shukravara): Increases longevity by 11 months.

However, the Tithi (lunar day) is considered even more important than the weekday. One should avoid getting a haircut on Amavasya (New Moon), even if it falls on an otherwise auspicious weekday like Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. Always check the Tithi first, and then consider the weekday before making a decision.

Among the Tithis, the following are regarded as especially auspicious for a haircut:

- Dwitiya (2nd Tithi)
- Tritiya (3rd Tithi)
- Panchami (5th Tithi)
- Saptami (7th Tithi)
- Trayodashi (13th Tithi)

According to these traditional beliefs, choosing an auspicious Tithi along with a favorable weekday is said to contribute to Ayushya Vriddhi—an increase in longevity and overall well-being.
