Today, we're releasing Claude Code for marketing.
It does a marketer's work in minutes by browsing, clicking, and posting like a human would.
The marketing hire is now optional:
Most Indians don’t know this
There was a time when the Indian Rupee wasn’t just India’s currency it was a regional currency.
Countries that used the Indian Rupee officially at different points in history:
▶️ Nepal (still accepts INR today)
▶️ Bhutan (INR is legal tender)
▶️ Pakistan (1947–48)
▶️ Sri Lanka (till 1948)
▶️ Myanmar (till 1937)
And here’s the shocking part
The Persian Gulf once ran on a version of the Indian Rupee
▶️ UAE
▶️Qatar
▶️ Oman
▶️ Bahrain
▶️ Kuwait
It was called the Gulf Rupee and was issued by India.
One Gulf rupee, similar to the regular One Indian rupee note issued in India, but printed in red and containing a "Z" letter prefix in the serial number.
Even parts of East Africa (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania) used the Indian Rupee during the British era.
The rupee’s reach stretched from Africa to Southeast Asia.
🔴Major Devaluation Phases
❗️1949 - First shock
Pound devalued, India followed automatically
Rupee devalued 30% and $1 was = ₹4.76
❗️Then came 1966.
Under Indira Gandhi India devalued the rupee by 57% under global pressure. and Rupee devalued from ₹4.76 to ₹7.50 against dollar
Gulf countries immediately dumped the rupee and created their own currencies to protect themselves.
That single decision ended India’s regional currency dominance overnight
Rupee didn’t collapse overnight. It declined in phases tied to global power shifts and bad Govt policies.
