A man in Surat tried to withdraw 10,000 from an ATM in 2017.
The ATM didnโt give any cash.
But the money was deducted from his account.
He complained to Bank of Baroda many times.
Emails. Written complaints. Follow-ups.
Nothing happened.
The bank said the ATM belonged to SBI, so it wasnโt their responsibility.
But the customer didnโt give up.
He went to the consumer court.
Then came a long wait.
9 years later, the court gave its decision.
The forum said:
If money is deducted in a failed ATM transaction, the bank must reverse it within 5 days.
If they donโt, they must pay โน100 per day as a penalty.
The bank failed to prove that the ATM actually dispensed the cash.
So the court ordered:
โข โน10,000 refund
โข Interest
โข โน100 per day penalty for 3,288 days
Total compensation: โน3.28 lakh
A โน10,000 problem turned into 3,28,800 compensation.

@Nikhilchavdagj1 Ye thoda controversial ho sakta hai par kya dalit logo ko dalit kehne pe proud feel hota hai agar azadi ke bad bhi reservation ke bawajud ye haal hai to jimmedar kaun hai, government ya log?
@dhruv_rathee@iArpitSpeaks Whenever his fake news or propaganda gets exposed, he makes videos to defend himself by playing the victim card.
GenZ and youth of India must stay alert against such propagandists who live comfortably outside India while provoking you to burn your own nation.
@dhruv_rathee@iArpitSpeaks This person does not live in India but wants the youth of India to indulge in violence like in Nepal.
His father is AAP leader Vikas Sharma, who contested election from
Bulandshahr in 2022 and lost.
@INCIndia I wish the same spirit had been embraced by some individuals in the past, especially during the period of Emergency. It should have even found mention in the preamble during that time of change.
