Lastly, what I took out of this course was the concept of coding. Through softwares such as Scratch, coding is made easy and fun for young learners! The students of today are so involved in technology as it is that introducing coding may spark lots of interest! #teach#EDUC387015
Another tool I found so interesting in #EDUC387015 that I know I can tie into future lesson plans was Google Tour Creator. I would love to have my students all create different tours of places around the world to then share with the class! #inspire#share
One of my favorite concepts we learned about in #EDUC387015 that I hope to incorporate in my future classroom is Virtual Reality. VR allows students to adventure to so many different places and I believe it will encourage learning in the classroom! #edtech#virtuallearning
#Makerspace allows students to challenge themselves through new technology and different softwares. In the classroom, the teacher and students are able to problem solve together for incredible results! I’m highly considering Makerspace for my future classroom! #EDUC387015
I discovered that there is a VR headset made for the classroom called ClassVR headset. This device is a fully immersive VR and under the teachers control. This is an amazing way to spark engagement in the classroom! #EDUC387015#VirtualReality#ClassVR
After using #GooglesTourCreator , I discovered that creating virtual field trips is fo fun and easy! I would love to incorporate this into my classroom in the future and have my students create their own field trips centered around the given lesson! #EDUC387015#EdTech
This week in #EDUC387015 we learned about LMS. If your district doesn’t have an LMS implemented I highly recommend Edsby. It integrates teachers, students and parents into one classroom ecosystem. This allows for #collaboration and #communication inside and outside the classroom!
@molly_woot I never thought about hosting Kahoot games via a videoconference and with our current situation, that is more applicable than ever! Thank you for sharing the benefits of Kahoot that may have been overlooked previously!
This week in #EDUC387015 we learned about classroom assessment tools! I chose to focus on Quizlet and more specifically Quizlet Live. This is a great tool to use in the classroom because it allows for collaboration AND competition between peers! #compete2learn#engagestudents
I got to practice using #scratch today! Such a cool and easy tool to use, especially in the classroom! Also bound to keep the students’ attention with all the different coding projects they offer. #EDUC387014#makecodingfun
I used @codeorg this week and was amazed at what it has to offer! https://t.co/CRc3ePAvig exposes students to important STEM courses early on. As a future educator, I’m so grateful to have this resource at my disposal to practice computational thinking! #EDUC387014#promoteCT
Starting in Kindergarten students are learning how to think it terms of their future. With technology growing rapidly, students are now given the tools to think computationally. Many online programs focused on computer science are bring used. #EDUC387015#CT#EdTech#Code2Learn
"It fueled my passion. Coding teaches computational thinking skills embedded throughout curriculum. It gives our students the opportunity to be innovative and creative." Coding in Kindergarten ❤️ #CodeBreaker#CSForGood https://t.co/kMUfrwaBg8
With the technology of today, assitive technology is advancing at a quick speed. High technology is also becoming more normalized in classrooms and students are benefiting greatly from these devices. #computerbased#technologytools#AT#EDUC38714
This morning I had some fun setting up a Google Home with some Big Mack switches to develop use of core words (‘want’ and ‘stop’ shown in video!). Please excuse my NI accent on the switches 😂🙈 #aac#augcomm#slpeeps#assistivetechnology
I’ve learned that smartboards are so much more than allowing the teacher to give an interactive lesson. They allow for collaboration and student lead discussion. Smartboards offer so many resources that I can’t wait to use in the future. #EDUC387015#smartboards#SMART_Tech
Ms. Murray & Mrs. Engel, teachers of students with #autism, explore & role-play ways to use their new #SmartBoards to best help their students learn, grow, achieve, & succeed. 🤩🐝
