Meet Swaroop, a Dublin-based site reliability engineering (SRE) intern! Swaroop is currently pursuing his master’s in computer science, though he’s long been interested in working at Google. “I've always wanted to work on the frontier of new technologies, building for billions of users across a vast range of products and domains.” Now a Google intern, Swaroop is helping build the machine learning models that power Google Ads.
“As an SRE, my job is to ensure Google's massive systems are always running smoothly, reliably, and efficiently,” Swaroop explained. “This summer, I’m building a new tool designed to help my team manage the vast amounts of new data Google produces daily.” For Swaroop, being staffed on a project that has such a wide-reaching impact — ultimately, his project will help maintain the reliability and performance of Google’s systems — is just another benefit of interning at Google.
