Yesterday my daughter was talking about how her high school history teacher “just teaches what happened”. I had disagreed with his anti American lesson and tried to explain that I KNOW that’s not how education works because I have lived long enough to watch the narrative and curriculum change.

God stepped in to help today when her English teacher spent 45 minutes complaining that the spirit squad putting up posters in the quad asking the students to wear school colors on game day was non inclusive and aggressive and should not be allowed.

Daughter was like, “but the school colors are fun, my teacher is so annoying she thinks she knows everything.”

I gave her a knowing smile and said “exactly”. I think she got it.
