@dwinters62@UncleNickHub@RinoTheBouncer 9S is the MAIN character, but they all serve as protagonists because they are crucial to the plot and you literally play as all three meaning the developers meant for all 3 to be protagonists
You can go on about 9S all you want, but 2b and a2 are still protagonists
@dwinters62@UncleNickHub@RinoTheBouncer "Has a female protagonist" there can be more than one protagonist - you play as 2b 9s and a2, all 3 are protagonists
9S is the most central, sure, but he isn't the only protagonist
Like who is the protagonist of gta V? You play as Michael, Franklin, and Trevor hence they all are
@SylvySnooVT@bearwithmestp@vjollila96@thegamerwebsite I just realized you are the one who made the logical comment. I thought I was debating with you this whole time. Well... look at the hour... time to do something that rhymes with debating
@bearwithmestp@SylvySnooVT@vjollila96@thegamerwebsite Ok last thing I swear lol
Wouldn't it make more sense for them to remake rayman 2! Rayman 4 is likely to be fully 3d so what better way to gage interest and prepare your team to make something good than by remaking a game that actually needs a remake, and will better represent 4
@bearwithmestp@SylvySnooVT@vjollila96@thegamerwebsite To be clear I am all for remaking a game that is outdated. Like before ps2/gamecube/Xbox era go for it, remake it. Anything after... its a lazy cash grab to say the least, even if you don't want to call it scummy
@bearwithmestp@SylvySnooVT@vjollila96@thegamerwebsite It's an estimate I found searching. It sold 1.3 million first year and metroid dread sold 3 mill first year - both revivals of IPs and metroidvanias. Dread was considered a massive success. Lost crown almost sold half as much as a Nintendo staple IP and was considered a failure?!
@bearwithmestp@SylvySnooVT@vjollila96@thegamerwebsite No shit they don't make them for free but every game put out is a gamble, buy what happened to making new games in a franchise out of passion, without having to ensure financial success
saturating the market with remakes is scummy, especially when the original isn't even outdated
@bearwithmestp@SylvySnooVT@vjollila96@thegamerwebsite You're kidding right?
...dollars lol
Estimated 45 million and people are still buying it
Averages around 300 active players which is high considering it came out 2 years ago and it's a single player game, play it once and done with it type of game
@bearwithmestp@SylvySnooVT@vjollila96@thegamerwebsite With God of war and halo sure... but look at nintendo... they make 3 or 4 remakes before adding a new entry. The whole focus on remakes is greedy and is not player first mentality. It's preying on player nostalgia instead providing new quality content.
@bearwithmestp@SylvySnooVT@vjollila96@thegamerwebsite Wasn't as much of a flop as you made it out to be. made over 40 million and sales are still rolling in. likely made their money back within the first year and every sale from now on is profit. There's still interest in the game, but like I said metroidvanias are oversaturated
@bearwithmestp@SylvySnooVT@vjollila96@thegamerwebsite Good, they just had to commit to making a good new game
You like the lost crown.... you may have never gotten it if they made a remake first that flopped and decided it wasn't worth it. The lost crown is still doing decent. You didn't reply to my message about that
@bearwithmestp@SylvySnooVT@vjollila96@thegamerwebsite You don't know that, I think if they marketed it right it could've been a hit. There is still a lot of interest in sands of time, in fact fans just made their own remaster earlier this year
@bearwithmestp@SylvySnooVT@vjollila96@thegamerwebsite Rayman is a much more mainstream IP compared to the ones you listed.
Doom (2016), devil may cry (5), and God of war (2018) jumped straight to new games because they believed in the IP and they were successful
Gauging interest through remakes...
