It’s disappointing to see family members of another islander resort to comments like calling Trinity’s family “ghetto” and dismissing Bryce and Trinity’s win.
You don’t have to agree with the outcome, but reducing a Black family to stereotypes or mocking their celebration is unacceptable. Competition ends, but respect should remain.
Racism doesn’t always come wrapped in slurs. Sometimes it’s the language and stereotypes people choose to weaponize.
Bryce and Trinity earned their moment. Their families deserved to celebrate it in peace, just like every other finalist’s family would.
Congratulations again to Bryce and Trinity. 🤍
