I had a beer with @IRA_therabbit the other day. Not some metaphor for online bonding but an actual, real-life, in person beer. No video call, no pitch deck, no social media noise... just two people talking.

We talked about everything from Balkan lifestyle through crypto madness to blockchain tech. Somewhere in between, she brought up something I did not pay much attention to before - DeSci

Now, I’m not going to pretend I’m some DeSci maxi. I’m not. In fact, this was the first time someone sat me down and made me aware it exist. Not through a thread, not in a pitch deck, not on a X feed echoing with GMs… but with a cold drink and a proper conversation. That made me curious. So I did the thing we rarely do in this space - research.

And what I found is the following.

There’s a $65M fund (Sapien Capital) backing DeSci projects, launched by @SeiNetwork. Real money, aimed at real world problems... Healthcare. Scientific research. Stuff that matters. Stuff people don’t usually associate with blockchains and stuff that people actually 'understand'. At least comparing to understanding of Blockchain technology.

To be fair, I’ve lost count of how many blockchains have promised to be the fastest thing since caffeine. In this particular case it has been said that it’s built for speed and affordability... again. ON a different note, it does feel like there’s more substance here. Not just the tech, but the 'why'.

We’ve spent years talking about “real-world use cases” in crypto. Most of the time it’s just noise or desperate attempts to glue tokens to problems that don’t exist. This actually feels… useful. Grounded. Without any hype... Like something you could explain to a normie without sounding like a lunatic.

I didn’t expect a beer to send me down a rabbit hole.
But that’s the thing with RL meetups and networking. I preach about that all the time. The best ideas aren’t always in documents and digital material. They are in people. In conversations. In those moments when we stop shilling and start actually listening.

I will be on a lookout now. Not as an expert. Not as an investor. Just as someone who appreciates the evolvement of the tech and innovation of the builders.

A Letter to Super Slimes 💌

I’ve seen projects in this space retain supporters even after a rug. Folks cling to projects either because of fandom or the capital they’ve invested, degens banding together in hopes of recovering losses.

[ Super Slimes ]

was a free mint, launched in collaboration with @inkartluis, the majority owner. From the start, Luis’ goal was to build based on the community’s interest. But as you know, in this space, most people mint, flip, and never look back. 🏃🏽‍♂️💨

We didn’t raise much at all due to timing, and we lacked support from major players like Pallet Exchange, who stopped highlighting new releases just as we launched. Despite the quality of our art and ranking among the top 5 in volume at one point, we never received a highlight. 😐

Still, success doesn’t hinge on who supports you — it’s about how you build. I believe sacrifice can be rewarding. But as I’ve always said: you need money to make money. This space runs on capital, and even when you give it your all, it’s still a gamble. 🎰

I was once told it would take $50,000 to build a website to my specs. Thankfully, AI is helping bridge the gap between the well-funded and the rest of us, allowing us to do more with less.

Beyond money, you need passion. You need to sacrifice time and energy. Super Slimes depended heavily on Luis to illustrate animated shorts, the next collection, and the art for [Redacted]. But Luis relies on commissions to support his family, delivering all that without revenue is simply unsustainable.

So I kept building with minimal art, until I realized, I couldn’t continue alone while Luis was swamped with paid commissions. And as the minority owner of Slimes, I can’t make major decisions solo or provide what’s needed, knowing most of the revenue isn’t mine to build with.

[ Monos Meta Club ]

That’s why I am shifting my focus primarily to Monos Meta Club, my personal project that predates Super Slimes. I plan to integrate Slimes into @MonosMC lore, with incentives and rewards.

As the Lead Artist for Monos, Luis will continue to be in my corner, however we will not be reliant on any one artist. As a community center for the Arts, we’re committed to collaborating with and showcasing talented creators. We’re starting with The Gallery, a dedicated channel in our Discord that serves as an artist directory. 🖼️

Once Slimes integration is complete, @superslimes will remain live on-chain. I’ll also work in future to secure a proper agreement with Luis so I can take full charge of the IP and future developments if possible. I have my eye on @AbstractChain! 👀
