Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto #life, and few there be that find it.

If you lived in the time when Jesus Christ walked the earth, would you have been a follower like those who came for the miracles and food, or would you have been a disciple, who believed without seeing but hearing His words?

@nadalevu For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
Hebrews 10:26-27
No matter how beautiful this world becomes, it is still not home. Egypt can dress its bondage in gold, comfort, honour, success, applause, and pleasure, but it remains Egypt. It can decorate the chains, but it cannot satisfy the soul.
That is why Moses could turn away from what most men spend their lives chasing. “By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to endure ill treatment with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin” (Hebrews 11:24-25).
The treasures of Egypt were real, but they were passing. The promises of God were unseen, but they were eternal. This is where the believer must learn to see rightly. The world may offer comfort, but it cannot give rest. It may offer pleasure, but it cannot give holiness. It may offer a name, but it cannot give life.
“For here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come” (Hebrews 13:14).
There is a hunger in the redeemed that nothing in this age can fill. Not success. Not wealth. Not admiration. Not ease. The soul made alive by God longs for God Himself. We are not merely waiting for better circumstances. We are waiting to be with the Lord.
“In Your presence is fullness of joy; in Your right hand there are pleasures forever” (Psalm 16:11).
So let Egypt glitter if it wants. Let the world offer its finest things. The people of God were not redeemed to settle in decorated bondage. We were redeemed for the presence of God, and only there will the soul finally rest.
