A volunteer writes: I spent some time with Mr. Slips today, and now that he's more adjusted to the Care Center, he seems like a totally different cat than his earlier notes state: I found him to be playful, gentle, and a lover of any and all human interaction. This handsome youngster waited patiently for me to approach his kennel, and when I did he greeted me with some hearty meows and an invitation to bat around a feather toy. He took a break to munch some chow, then lay down on his side and rolled around to reveal his belly, a sign of trust. Slips really is a fan of humans, and the perfect new pet parent for him is someone who keeps a pile of toys on hand and gives him one-on-one time. He's the kind of cat who will cheer you up when you're feeling blue, listen to you when you talk about your day, and never turn down the opportunity to just hang and enjoy your company. Meet this handsome boy at the Manhattan Care Center today! ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻

I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home. I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I'm sensitive and shy.
