.@MLB Commissioner writes to me and admits they were wrong to threaten the Giants players over Bible verses and promises never to fine or discipline these players - or any players for their religious beliefs
I don't think you guys yet realize...
A) How unpopular this "bow down to us, or else" movement has become with the general population. This movement has begun to operate like a Gestapo-enforced state-sponsored religion.
B) How evil it is to try to force (with job-threatening threats and warnings) Christians publicly violate convictions Christianity has held for 2,000 yrs
It's still amazing to me that the Creator of the Universe would send His perfect Son to die in my place. I lived in open rebellion and cursed God for years for not giving me what I thought I deserved ... all the while not realizing He took the punishment I actually do deserve.
โFor a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths.โ
2 Timothy 4:3-4
โI trusted in Him not just in the good, but in the bad [this season]. I understand that suffering is good for us, as followers of Jesus.
- High Point Guard Chase Johnston after their loss vs Arkansas
'Pistol Pete' Maravich sharing his testimony of faith in Jesus Christ in 1987 less than one year before his death at the age of 40:
"I want all of you to know this tonight about Peter Maravich. You may never have heard of me. It makes no difference. I'm just one person on this earth saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. I want you to know this, that the change that came into my life was Jesus Christ.
It was not winning. I won all my life. I won every trophy, award, everything you can think of, but every time I won something, I wanted something more. I had to win again. It wasn't money, because money'll buy you everything but happiness. It'll pay your fare at every place but Heaven. Material thingsโI've driven everything some of you strive for from Rolls Royces to BMWs to Mercedes to Porsches. It wasn't religion because in the name of religion, Jesus Christ was placed upon that cross.
And the purest thing about Christianity is the fact that it's your choice. You can't work. You can't earn. I knew that, and I understood it now.
I want you to know this. The last thing I'd like to say is this, next week I'll be inducted into the Hall of Fame. I'll get that big ring. In fact, it's a bigger ring than I would have got for the championship, but I'll tell you something about all the awards. They all pale to the glory of Christ and what He's done in my life. It's amazing what He has done in my life.
I wouldn't trade my position in Christ for a thousand NBA championships or a thousand Hall of Fame rings or for a hundred billion dollars. There's nothing like the joy of Jesus Christ in your life."
High Point Guard Chase Johnston shared The Gospel on @wakeupbarstool this morning & explained how Jesus Christ saved him though a convicting conversation with his brother 3 years ago.
Great job diving into this, @TBob53 ๐
Steph entered the night on top of the world.
He ended it on another planet.
10 years ago today... the NBA's leading scorer and reigning Kia NBA MVP somehow ascended to another level, capping his 46p, 12-three performance with a shot for the ages!
Brian Windhorst with HIGH praise for Cooper Flagg
"I've seen 3 teenagers before flagg who have been blown away impressive to me. LeBron, Luka, and Wembanyama. The way Cooper controls the game on both ends of the floor, the only one he compares too is LeBron."
"The reality in Scripture is that there are many professors of faith that are not possessers of saving faith. How do I know if my faith is legitimate? The Bible gives three main tests:
1. Do you actually love Jesus?
2. Do you strive to obey His word?
3. Do you love God's people?"
