Can Whatsapp tell me why I am seeing updates from people I didn’t save their contacts?

I didn’t save their contacts because I don’t want to know anything about them, so why is this app forcing it on me.

this is correct. your status privacy hasn’t changed - if it’s set to be visible only to your contacts, they’re the only ones who can see it.

we’re running a small test with a limited group of users where you may see someone’s status if you interacted with them on WhatsApp recently and they saved you in their contacts, even if you haven’t saved them.
