~90% of players finish my demo (median playtime 40 min) — surprised by this
I released a demo for my game recently and noticed something interesting.
Almost 90% of players actually finish it.
The demo is about 40–50 minutes long depending on how you play, and the average playtime sits around ~50 minutes (median 40).
I didn’t expect such a high completion rate — I thought most people would drop off halfway.
Does this usually mean the core loop is working?
2.5 months ago, I quit my stable job in mobile gaming to bet on myself.
No more corporate meetings. Just me, my dog, and a dream of making the perfect zen fishing incremental.
Today, the Incremental Fishing Demo is officially LIVE on Steam. 🌊🎣
It’s a small step for the industry, but a huge one for my SwimDog studio. Try it for free and help a solo dev stay afloat!

This indie dev spent 1,400+ days building his game, Tangy TD, completely from scratch in C++.
Seeing him and his wife react after the game earned $250,000 in its first week after launch is honestly beautiful.
We just hit 100 wishlists! 🚀
To celebrate this milestone, I’m showing off the current state of the Upgrade System. Getting those numbers up feels so satisfying!
What do you think? ⬇️

🚀 2.5 months ago, I quit my stable mobile gamedev job to chase a dream: building my own PC games as a solo dev.
Now it’s time to make it official, but I’m torn on the studio name. Which one gives you the best "indie dev" + "home/warm" vibes? 🐾🎮
Help me choose! 👇
@BrazenBraden I just decided that I would definitely bring my first game to Steam so that I could have the full experience from development to the release of the game, so I made the page as early as possible.
I quit my job to start making PC games.
This is the first playable version of my fishing game.

@BrazenBraden If you're planning to release a game on Steam, you need to have a page as soon as possible.
If you're testing an idea on Itch and aren't sure yet whether it will make it to Steam, that's okay; there's no need to rush.
@CollinHarsin It's a dream and a goal to make amazing games like It Takes Two, Frostpunk, and others. I'm just at the beginning of my journey, starting with small steps and projects.
I've been really inspired by guys like @UnityCodeMonkey, and couple my friends and colleagues .
Hey everyone.
I said I’d post more often - and then disappeared for half a year.
Honestly, I didn’t feel like writing about anything.
There was too much movement, too many unclear moments in work and life.
Now things have settled down, and I’m coming back.
Besides the general chaos, a big reason I stopped posting was a simple question:
why am I even doing this?
I originally started this channel because other people pushed me to - not because I personally wanted it.
Just a month ago, my thinking was pretty straightforward:
this is not interesting to me, I don’t need it, and I won’t keep doing it.
So what changed?
Something changed in my life - more on that in the next post (spoiler, now i am indie game developer).
I realized that the best reason for me to write is to find friends and like-minded people.
And later - investors and partners.
Because how are they supposed to find me if I don’t share my thoughts, ideas, dreams, or goals anywhere?
So yeah, this is where I’m at right now.
If we haven’t talked in a while - I’d be glad to reconnect.
I’m doing well.
Will share updates, results, and plans very soon 🙂
🎮 As a kid, I was obsessed with Natural Disaster Simulator in Roblox — always dreamed of making something like it myself.
And now that dream came true!
🔥 I built my own version on HypeHype — with tornadoes, lava, earthquakes, and more chaos.
