JK LOL but i do agree, i think so many human bits are done well but there’s a threshold for sure. and with faces, when everything’s exaggerated, it ironically loses emphasis

as an animator myself, the conversation around ponies acting too human in later seasons has been interesting to see. i largely agree and miss the horse mannerisms, but this particular scene never came off as jarring to me. i think that board artists can strike a happy medium 1/3

I think this is the first instance of ponies miming quotations. It's super ugly and I really really hate it. They start using it so frequently in the last season, it's mad jarring. It just simply doesn't work as a gesture without fingers.

between what works and doesn’t work in a particular shot, and this one works! all her acting points make sense and aren’t over exaggerated. opinion bias does play a role here because i think the miming quotations is super cute, but from an animator perspective, 2/3
