As the Not-a-Boring Competition 2024 is officially over, we are thrilled to announce that Swissloop Tunneling placed 1st overall and obtained the prestigious Champion Award. 🎉

Not-a-Boring-Competition 2024 Day 6: 📢

On the sixth day, the team completed the last tests of our subsystems, e.g. an erosion foam generator and a tunnel lining extrusion test, and moved the whole machine from its stands next to our tent to the platform in the starting pit.

Not-a-Boring-Competition 2024 Day 5: 📢

During the fifth day of the competition week, the team resolved the last pending issues and managed to complete the subsystem tests for navigation and propulsion. After a long day on site, only a few system checks are left before launch.

On the fourth day of the competition, a big effort was put on the electrical system.
The cooling system of our tunnel lining component was successfully tested. Furthermore, the slurry system of our erosion subsystem was upgraded.

Not-a-Boring-Competition 2024 Day 3: 📢

The third day of the competition was filled with more safety checks. A huge milestone was reached when the whole machine passed all the mechanical safety checks. Our electrical engineers worked to complete the electrical installations.

The second day started with the arrival of our main container.
Today, we focused on getting the already fully assembled machine to a state that allows testing of the subsystems.
Throughout the day, the team passed various safety checks.

Not-a-Boring-Competition 2024 Day 1 📢

Today, our smaller container arrived in the early afternoon. We also dut the pit from which the machine will start on the competition day on Sunday (March 31st). Finally, the team successfully passed the "Mining Readiness Review (MRR)".
