Thank you, @ICMA!
One of our favorite parts of ICMA was listening.
We heard questions about reach, public access, staff workload, reporting, and how local government teams can make their existing workflows work a little better.

Those conversations are exactly why events like ICMA matter. We came to share what we know, but we're leaving with a lot to think about, too.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, talked with us, shared a challenge, or showed us how your community communicates.

We'll see you next year in Philly💚

Hi! 👋 From @ICMA!
That's us at Booth 863! Come hang out with us!

Bring a recent livestream (or just the questions your council keeps asking), and we'll show you where your livestream is going and how to reach your community where they're already watching.

Public information can be available but hard to find.

Our latest blog explores the gap between transparency and discoverability, and why where information is published matters just as much as whether it's published.

Happy #WinsDay!
BIG Update Announcement ✨

Scheduled Events just got a whole lot BETTER!

You can now scheduled your livestream once in Switchboard and have the upcoming broadcast created on YouTube, Facebook Pages, and X. 📅

That means your audience can find your stream before you go live, share it, and return to the same event for the replay. 📲

And when it's time to go live?
Just start your stream in Switchboard.
No need to create the event on each platform individually.

🚶‍♂️ Walk & Talk with Rudy

Going live is only the start.
You can have the best camera, a great internet connection, and a perfect stream, but what happens next?

If residents have to remember the meeting time, find the city website, search for the right page, and then find the livestream, there's still a gap between going live and actually reaching residents.

For Rudy, that's the last mile. We'll be bringing this conversation to ICMA 2026.

📍 If you're attending, see us at Booth 863! 👋

The question isn't just "Do we have an emergency alert system?"

It's: Can we verify information, publish it quickly, and get the same message to residents through multiple channels?

How many people actually watched your last city council meeting? 👀

It sounds like a simple question, but if you publish your livestream across multiple platforms, getting a clear answer can be surprisingly difficult.

Our latest blog walks through a 20-minute cross-platform reach audit to show where your audience is watching and establish a baseline for your livestream reach.

Because before you can improve your reach, you need to know what it looks like today.

2 WEEKS TO GO!
#ICMA2026 | Long Beach, CA

Local government is about people, collaboration, and helping communities move forward.
As we get ready for the @ICMA Annual Conference, we're looking forward to meeting the people behind that work.

Switchboard helps local government teams deliver live communications to residents across the platforms they already use.

Curious what that could look like for your team? Stop by our booth in the exhibit hall, say hello, and see Switchboard in action. We'd love to meet you and hear what you're working on.

See you in Long Beach! 🌊

🥇 WE HAVE A BLOG POST FOR THAT.

Because livestreaming comes with questions.

We have a blog post for that
->Public-sector livestreaming comes with a lot of questions.
->How do you prepare for a broadcast interruption?
->What does SB 707 mean for language access?
->Are your captions meeting accessibility requirements?
->And what can you do to make sure your broadcast is there when your community needs it?
We've been digging into those questions on the Switchboard Live blog

💡 Who would you say is responsible for what happens between the live broadcast and the resident?

[Switchboard Live @switchboardlive]

What if your city's livestream works perfectly but still fails to connect with the community it serves?

Your meeting management system reliably keeps the official records, and your AV equipment ensures smooth broadcasts. Both play crucial roles, but what about the connection between the broadcast and the residents who should be engaging with it?

Our latest blog delves into the disconnect that can occur between hosting a meeting and truly reaching your audience. You might not need to overhaul your existing systems to bridge this gap.

@AwareNowAI Great point! It’s definitely not just a 'set it and forget it' situation. We really need to put in the effort to make sure the archive is useful and accessible for everyone later on.

[Switchboard Live @switchboardlive]

Two laws. One livestream. 🎥

Accessibility and open meeting requirements may feel like separate boxes to check, but your livestream sits right in the middle.

Real-time captions.
Redundant destinations.
Automatic recording and archiving.

These pieces can help create a livestream workflow that is more accessible, more resilient, and easier to protect as part of the public meeting record.

Hanna breaks down the three solutions in this quick video.
