@TheResleevables actually not an easy list to make. Shoe-ins for me are brainstorm and force of will but not sure about the other two. Feels a bit wrong to include power 9 since those cards have seen so little play historically. Mana Drain/CS/Ponder feel a bit redundant with the other two
@SaffronOlive It can devalue against the odds style decks. Can feel like instead of the unique gimmick succeeding it’s just coasting off of the busted cub draws.
@PhanTum926 I've read a few IGN reviews here and there and they have been pretty thoughtful and well written. Unfortunately most of the gaming audience is childish and irrational and theres just not much you can do about that.
@PackPaladinGG I'm gonna take a stab at a real answer here:
1. Edh is how most people get into the game so its the natural transition for those who want to be more competitive
2. It's a proxy friendly way to play legacy/vintage constructed
@MechaZard2@NamelessMTG Yeah I get it. I had it easy since I could just join an existing group. I will say though I think the audience for vintage cube is much larger than that for vintage constructed.
@Nauticalfour04@SaffronOlive Seth is attempting to offer legitimate criticism of the art. The criticism "this art is bad because it depicts people I am prejudiced against", I would not consider as legitimate.
@justMizuyuki mh3 I mostly skipped it was before I got into older formats and I was tunneled on standard then. So I've mostly just played with those mdfcs in cube. A later top deck of sink or otawara doesn't feel so bad even if its worse than getting a real spell
@justMizuyuki Oh no just the raw # of games speaks for itself I didn't even parse the wr. I thought maybe you were more of a constructed player. I'm sorry for my comment! It was clearly way off base.
@justMizuyuki I started playing after znr. I've only been playing for about 3 years. How did it play? I will look out for a chance to try it when I can.
@justMizuyuki I absolutely don't want to get rid of lands in the game. Lands are my favorite card type. But I do wonder how a limited set where say a quarter of the spells were mdfcs would play
@justMizuyuki There may be design downsides to having a ton of mdfcs/spell lands/cyclers running around so I can't even confidently advocate for a solution. But I think the issue still negative impacts a lot of games even if you play optimally.
@justMizuyuki I just don't really agree with the framing of land/screw as the something that the player has within their power to reasonably avoid. I don't think the current set of tools provided to us are sufficient for that in practice.
@justMizuyuki You are right. It was hard to remain civil after how insulting last couple comments were. My bad. All I can say is I'm glad for you don't even seem to experience this. It doesn't seem like we are getting anywhere here.
