🌎🇪🇺Historic! With the entry into force of the #FgasRegulation, the EU sends a strong message to governments worldwide and paves the way towards green grids and a manufacturing capacity at the service of the energy transition.
#COP29 Commissioner Hoekstra calls for global action on SF6, the most harmful F-gas still used in switchgear ⚡
Switching Gears for Net Zero supports F-gas-free, Natural Origin Gas solutions for a #NetZero future!🌱

We are talking lot about CO2 and not nearly as much about methane, being the next biggest cause of global warming.
Reducing methane emissions from the energy sector makes economic sense and boosts energy security.
🟢 Our Alliance has joined 500+ industry partners in calling on EU policymakers to confirm the #GreenDeal as a policy priority for the upcoming mandate.
🌍Let's not gamble on our future, let's build it!

What comes after SF6 is in our hands. We call on EU negotiators to commit to a world without F-gases in switchgear for the future of our planet and the safety of our energy grids. #SayNoToTheFWord
We call on EU negotiators to #SayNoTheFWord by agreeing on a #FGasRegulation that phases out harmful F-gases in switchgear where alternatives are commercially available.
This represents a historic opportunity for the EU which we simply cannot waste.
Between 5 and 7 July, some of our members took part in an event co-hosted by @UNFCCC_CTCN and Germany's National Designated Entity (NDE), which emphasized the urgency of mitigating SF6 emissions in the grid system and adopting swift measures to limit global warming to below 1.5ºC
"Given the significant risks they pose, and to meet Europe’s ambitions in the fight against climate change, it is crucial to ban the use of F-gases for new installations in electrical grids in the EU." 👇#SayNoToTheFWord#FgasRegulation
Time is of essence; the European Union must not wait to substitute harmful #SF6 with natural original gas solutions. We must maintain technology leadership by European manufacturers while effectively achieving net-zero targets within the European grid by 2050.
