Ari was from Virginia, USA, he moved to lsrael only in 2022.

Basically he saw what his own people did in Gaza and shot himself in the head because - in lsraeli media's words - he couldn't bear it.

The body of Ari Goldberg, 23 years old from the US state of Virginia, was found in southern Israel on New Year’s Eve after he took his own life by shooting himself in the head.

Goldberg had moved to Israel in 2022 and joined the Combat Engineering Unit of the Israeli army (IDF), participating in military operations in Gaza. Media reports and some social media posts indicated that he could not bear what he witnessed during his service, which led to severe psychological trauma that resulted in his suicide.

This incident comes within a broader context of a rising number of suicides among Israeli soldiers following their participation in the Gaza genocide. More than 60 soldiers have taken their own lives since October 2023, while tens of thousands of others suffer from severe psychological crises due to post-traumatic stress disorder.
