Fox Gaming and its CEO Amine “Islero” Touzi scammed me and more than 10+ other people out of over $15,000 in salaries. Riot MENA, Calyx, and Vanguard were fully aware of the situation and did nothing.
I’ve waited a long time before speaking publicly, but after three years of dealing with this and getting ignored, I don’t have anything left to lose. Here is everything.
2023 The First Red Flags
My first split with Fox was in 2023. I should’ve never signed that contract, but I did.
We started the season 5-1; everything looked good until salaries didn’t arrive. Players including myself slowly stopped caring because motivation dies when basic payments and promises don’t come.
I begged the owner to pay players so we could actually fight for playoffs. He kept delaying. The team collapsed. I immediately made a LFT post because delays happen, but this was beyond unacceptable.
Islero promised to “fix everything” for summer. Payments arrived extremely late and even then, some players never received the full amounts. I only found that out much later. But because money eventually arrived, I stayed and false promises also helped me to stay.
2023 Summer Same Pattern
We started fine. Then salary delays hit again.
We lost playoff hopes for the second split in a row.
Most payments for 2023 finally came at the end of 2023 and start of 2024. That gave me a false sense of “okay, he pays late, but he pays.” Because delays were very much normal in Esports and atleast i wanted to build something greater in MENA.
So I stayed. I wanted to win something for once.
2024 Spring My Biggest Mistake
Big promises made to me before the split started which none of the are kept in the end, but i was too naive to see this.
I built a strong roster for 2024 Spring. Great players, great staff. Everyone accepted lower salaries because I believed in the project and promised that delays might happen, but payments would come.
We made playoffs, one game away from EMEA Masters again. Salaries came late again. It became obvious: Fox Gaming never pays on time but atleast they don't scam. They only pay months later.
I always prioritized my players first, so I personally accumulated the most unpaid salaries. I cared about morale more than myself. That was a mistake.
2024 Summer The Situation Gets Worse
Budget was almost gone. Promises never happened.
We treated summer as a development split. After summer 2024, I left Fox permanently. They owed me 4–5 months of salary at that point. But i knew for a fact most of the players got their money from that split as well. Like i said I was the one who is suffering more than anyone. And he told me he was gonna sell the spot to pay any remaining salaries of players and me. So I left FOX with good faith.
I verbally agreed with a large TCL organization. They told me it was a big project, so I immediately started working no salary doing everything from roster building to visas to staff scouting to even gaming house. I interviewed 100+ people and built three roster versions for different budgets.
Then, near TCL deadline day, they pulled out. Not entirely their fault also an issue with TCL and the original spot owners. But the result was the same:
I was now teamless, after a month of unpaid work for that TCL team.
But this situation left me vulnerable, and it made it much easier for Islero to manipulate me. Even though I knew I never wanted to return to Fox Gaming under any circumstances.
Late 2024/2025 My Second Big Mistake
Islero messaged me to come back. I didn’t believe it at first. He said “I couldn't sold the spot and I want to stay in AL for another year”.
Islero offered me “co-ownership” and “shares” for 2025 and beyond. I received nothing.
He said he’d send me one salary upfront to prove himself.
I was stupid enough to believe him. That was my second biggest mistake. But I was teamless, and if I wanted to stay relevant in the scene, I had to take that offer. Esports is a very fragile career path, missing even one split can be the beginning of the end of your career.
We built a young roster for 2025. Winter and Spring went okay for the players not for me. I never received a single salary, while player payments (even if delayed) were coming.
I needed the money too. The owner didn’t care.
During Spring playoffs, he even told players privately:
“Please win vs ANB, I know Legocan isn’t doing a good job, I’ll kick him after.”
Players immediately told me because they respected the work I did.
I focused only on qualifying. We lost one game away from EMEA Masters again.
That was my breaking point. After everything I did for him and for the brand, he still had the nerve to say that and it honestly makes me sick.
At that point he owed me nearly $10,000.
I told him I would sign away the shares if he only confirmed the debt on paper, which he did. That document is my legal proof.
He said he wanted to sell the slot. As much as I hated him, selling the slot was the only way for me and my players to finally get paid.
I almost sold it, until someone from Morocco sabotaged the deal to earn $500 for himself to the org i almost sold the spot to.
He pitched himself better, and the org preferred to deal with him instead of me. The deal died. And at that moment, I knew he had blown our last real chance to get paid, because if I had managed to sell the spot, we actually had a path to recover the money. Without that, the only thing that could’ve gotten us paid was Islero’s moral compass and he clearly didn’t have one.
I eventually signed with BAAM for 2025 Summer and thankfully that org caused zero problems. But the damage was already done to me, and to everyone who ever worked with Fox Gaming.
Extra Details People Don’t Know
• I paid for 1-on-1 countless coaching sessions from my own pocket.
• I covered some player's bonuses/salaries myself.
• I never got reimbursed for anything.
• I did every job an esports organization needs: coaching, scouting, management, Riot meetings, sponsorships, operations, communication even social media. In a normal org this is almost 10 people’s workload.
• Meanwhile, the CEO failed at his one responsibility: paying people.
And here’s the part that still makes me sick:
Our main sponsor was paying Fox Gaming large amounts of money.
The owner was taking half or more for himself.
This explains why we constantly had salary issues.
Riot, Calyx, Vanguard Zero Protection
Riot and Calyx knew about the payment issues in 2023 and 2024.
I emailed them. They did nothing.
Calyx even scammed teams and casters themselves and still haven’t resolved it.
In 2025, Vanguard had all the details too, including my contract.
They still allowed Fox Gaming to play in the league.
They delayed my attempts to go public and even slowed down my legal process.
Me and 10+ others are suffering financial and mental damage, and the people responsible still operate freely.
Every email reply from Riot / Vanguard felt like a copy-paste chatbot response.
The Reality
I was naive. I prioritized players and the region over myself.
I wasted three years of my life trying to help the Moroccan / MENA scene grow.
My reward was getting scammed.
The owner even told some players:
“You will never see that money again hahaha.”
He hasn’t replied to me a single time since I left.
I was manipulated hard and treated like a puppet by Amine Touzi. I wish I hadn’t been this naive, but all I ever wanted was to win a trophy. I gave everything for that goal every hour, every sacrifice and in the end, not only did I get scammed, I also never got the trophy I had dreamed of lifting.
Final Warning
Never work with Amine Touzi. He will manipulate you, use you, and throw you away.
I built his brand, handled everything for three years, and he failed at the only thing he was supposed to do: pay people.
This is the second scam in MENA this year, after FOG Esports. Riot learned nothing!
NEVER put your own priorities aside for someone else especially in esports. This field is filled with scammers, broken promises, and stories even worse than mine. I might be in bad shape right now, both financially and mentally, but this won’t stop me. This won’t make me quit. Not today, not tomorrow. I know that sooner or later people will see the impact I’ve made behind the scenes and I’ll end up somewhere good. Until that day comes, the grind doesn’t stop.
TL;DR
Me and 10+ people were scammed by Fox Gaming and CEO Amine Touzi. Riot, Vanguard, and Calyx knew and still did nothing. We lost over $15,000 collectively.
