PM Malaysia Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim semalam mengesahkan secara rasmi bahawa Petronas memperoleh dua telaga minyak dan gas di Turkmenistan dengan salah satu telaga itu merupakan antara telaga gas asli terbesar dunia

Ini hasil lawatan rasmi PM ke sana atas jemputan Presiden Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. Rundingan dijalankan selama beberapa kali di mana PM meyakinkan Serdar bahawa Petronas memainkan peranan penting dalam kemajuan industri minyak dan gas Turkmenistan

Sebagai balasan kepada penyerahan akses telaga minyak dan gas ini. Turkmenistan akan mendapat pemindahan teknologi minyak dan gas dari Malaysia, pendedahan latihan temasuk di Universiti Teknologi Petronas dan kerjasama kepakaran dalam Program Kerjasama Teknikal Malaysia dengan Wisma Putra. Tawaran ini membolehkan Sardar menerima permohonan Petronas
