Scott Yates | on caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease. https://t.co/QWMVUp5pLc via @YouTube
Thank you Spencer Dalke at Pilgrim Radio’s “His People” podcast for helping me share the story of God’s blessing in our lives in my first book, Everything is Going to be All Right: A Faith Journey through Alzheimer’s. Caregivers are being led closer to Jesus. We learn to surrender to Jesus to help us carry the burdens, trusting in His love and blessings of peace, strength and enduring hope. Grateful for peace in Nell’s heart through her very last breath, radiated by her smiles that were living water from our Lord for me and all those who cared for her.
Coming up on the Wednesday Meeting House on Faith Radio:
* Part 2 of the conversation with Scott Yates of Grace Ministries USA sharing about God's presence as he walked with his wife through Alzheimer's
* A Faith Radio Ministry Update with Billy Irvin
Trust in God’s Timing
After my wife Nell was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, some vaguely hinted at assisted suicide. The terrible disease brought us to a nursing home for the last two years when her care became overwhelming and left her like a child. Unable to talk, walk or even stand. Everyone talked about her smile, radiating the blessing of peace in her heart.
In our fallen world, assisted suicide legislation, framed as Medical Aid in Dying (MAID), is gaining momentum. Currently, 14 states and Washington, D.C. allow patients to request lethal drugs from doctors. In Canada, one in 20 deaths is attributed to euthanasia, more than 60,000 since legalized in 2016. The slippery slope in Canada has transitioned from the terminally ill to those with chronic conditions and proposals to extend to mental illness.
Trials of life teach us to be more like Christ. Through the storm of Alzheimer’s, we were being taught that God is with us in the storms. Our world is quick to discard the gift of life when it is inconvenient, creating a culture of death from babies in the womb to the dying elderly. As in the days of Noah, God must be grieved.

Christians Called to Judge Righteously
Professing Christians who attempt to deflect Biblical teaching quoting Jesus saying, “Do not judge,” and “love your neighbor” to tolerate, embrace or even celebrate sinful worldly culture are deceiving themselves.
The debates making news in U.S. Senate campaigns of James Talarico in Texas and Adam Hamilton in Texas are just the latest examples of the hypocrisy that Jesus called out in the Pharisees. If we love God, we listen to His Word and obey His commandments. Christians are called to judge righteously based on His Word.https://t.co/rVQolYfQGY

Thank you Richard Dugan for helping me share about the faith journey of caring for my wife Nell with Alzheimer’s in my first book. We were both led closer to Jesus and blessed with peace in our hearts. Even during the last two years on hospice in a nursing home. God was glorified by Nell's smile that often broke into laughter, like a river of living water from Jesus to strengthen me, other patients and all those who cared for her.
My first interview about my first book, "Everything is Going to be All Right: A Faith Journey through Alzheimer’s" available on Amazon. Rob Schilling helping me share the word about how caregivers are being drawn into a closer relationship with Jesus.

I was holding my wife Nell’s hand when she took her last breath after more than a decade of battling Alzheimer’s. God blessed us both with the publication of our book about our faith journey through Alzheimer's

Living with unceasing prayers of gratitude is living life in the Spirit, filling our hearts with blessings of peace and joy. Even when passing through dark valleys of sorrow and loss, give thanks for blessings.

Applies to us all and churches today and forever to persevere, trust and obey. Thank you for your Biblical authority ministry that changed my life and opened my eyes to Truth.
Parents be warned! God through the Apostle Paul has given us a very important warning in 2 Corinthians 11:3,
“But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.”
Let me paraphrase it for you. God is saying I want to warn you that the devil is going to use the same method on you (which means on your kids and grandkids, on everyone) as he did on Eve, to get you to not believe the things of God.
All Christian parents and leaders should be saying, “God is warning me about the method the devil will use on us, so I need to understand that method and make sure I’m preparing my kids and grandkids, my congregation, so that method won’t lead them astray. I need to diligently understand this warning and how to counteract it.”
So what was the method the devil used on Eve? “Did God actually say?” (Genesis 3:1—I call it the Genesis 3 attack). It was an attack on the authority of the Word of God to get Adam and Eve to doubt God’s Word so that doubt would lead to unbelief. Adam (and Eve) succumbed. And so sin entered the world, and the judgment of death by a righteous holy God because of sin.
Now this should be a warning to all of us that the method the devil will use on us and our children is to attack the Word of God to cause doubt and resulting unbelief. We need to be equipping kids to resist this attack! And in today’s world that Genesis 3 attack is aimed at undermining the authority of God’s Word, particularly in Genesis 1-11.
