Today, we launched our Education Leader's Handbook for curriculum reform.
It provides step by step guidance and diagnostic checklists for curriculum writers, whether at systems level or in schools. The report draws on evidence and experience working across systems to provide something new and hopefully very practically useful for those wanting to implement a knowledge rich curriculum. https://t.co/K4ekmEYBiu
NEW Coverage is not progress.
Students struggle for 3 curricular reasons: lack of specificity, lack of systematicity, and lack of subject sensitivity.

"Requires Attention."
Schools with high FSM are far more likely to sit under that label in the new Ofsted framework, especially the Achievement section.
Daft thing is, it already has our attention. It always will.
Poverty requires attention. Hunger requires attention. Trauma requires attention.
A judgement that ignores all of that - and then penalises the people giving their lives to the cause?
That requires attention too.
BREAKING: Music legend Bruce Springsteen just released this incredible song that will be sure to piss Trump off beyond belief.
“Streets of Minneapolis”.
He wrote this song about Alex Pretti and Renée Good Saturday and recorded it yesterday.
Share it far and wide and play it as loud as you can
New: We keep trying to teach grit as if it were something students can just learn. Instead, if we make progress visible students will persist. Swap pep talks for clear modelling, sequenced practice & precise feedback. Teach the subject well & resilience will follow

Today's figures reveal that NHS waiting lists grew again in June to 7.62 million.
14 years of Conservative neglect left the NHS broken, waiting lists rising, and patients failed.
Never again should the Conservatives be trusted with our health service.
Thousands upon thousands of antifascists out tonight across the country to smash the far right.
This is what a mass movement looks like ✊🏾

The poisoning of the public discourse on Muslims, migrants and refugees has been consistent and deliberate.
An anti Muslim agenda has been pursued by some in politics , the media and some think tanks and we have to be brave enough to call it out. They have created the climate that we now see play out in our towns and cities and they are as much to blame as the thugs on the street.
Based on Labour’s shadow cabinet, 84% went to comprehensive schools, 10% went to private schools and 6% to state grammar schools.
That would mean for the first time the cabinet closely reflected British society. https://t.co/CuFcvtuJ7z
