John never asked anyone to agree with him. He only demanded they think, and in an age that rewards certainty, he made skepticism entertaining. He could dismantle a headline with a raised eyebrow, a dry laugh, and a sentence so sharp it left you wondering why you ever chose to believe it in the first place.
Every Thursday and Sunday, with his co-host @adamcurry, felt a little less like listening to a podcast and a little more like pulling up a chair at the smartest, funniest bar in town... Filled with fizzy drinks and Costco wines. The conversations were always gold.
He had that rare gift of making cynicism feel hopeful. Because underneath every sarcastic jab was an old-fashioned belief that the truth was worth chasing... even if it took a few detours through complete nonsense.
The show's sign-off was always, "In the morning..."
...Now it lands a little differently.
Thanks for the laughs, the eye rolls, the odd noises, the media literacy, and the reminder that every story deserves one more question.
In the morning, Sir John.

John C. Dvorak was a true pioneer of technology journalism and podcasting. It was an honor to have been part of the PodShow era and witness his impact on a generation of creators. Rest in peace, John. Your voice and influence will not be forgotten. @adamcurry@THErealDVORAK
This shows ~1,200 years of seawater erosion of the Khafre Pyramid, compressed into one minute.
For the first ~500 years a high ocean stand holds about 300 ft above the base; its waves lap the soft Tura limestone casing and dissolve it (carbonic acid) at roughly 0.08 ft/year — about one inch of perpendicular recession annually, and ~14× faster than the slow dissolution on submerged surfaces below.
As the sea recedes, it then pauses at successively lower stands, each held ~75–100 years, and each carves a distinct horizontal band where the casing is stripped to the bare core. Loosened blocks slough off at their own pace and fall down each face, piling into talus that mounds toward the center of all four sides.
The smooth white cap above the highest waterline is never reached and survives intact.
