When butter was demonised, Unilever sold margarine.
When tallow was demonised, Procter and Gamble sold Crisco.
When eggs were demonised, Kellogg's sold cereal.
When red meat was demonised, Cargill sold soy.
When raw milk was demonised, Nestle sold infant formula.
When leather was demonised, BASF sold PVC.
When wool was demonised, ExxonMobil sold polyester feedstock.
When animal fat was demonised, the seed-oil industry grew from a niche product to the most consumed food ingredient on earth.
Every demonisation of an animal product made a specific group of shareholders very rich.
Every one of those products had been eaten by humans for thousands of years without incident.
The science changed the moment a substitute existed to sell.
Follow the money. The advice will start to make a lot more sense.
Activist: "Your cows are putting carbon into the atmosphere."
Farmer: "Where did they get it?"
Activist: "What?"
Farmer: "The carbon. Where did the cow get it before it put it anywhere."
Activist: "From... eating?"
Farmer: "From eating grass. And where did the grass get it."
Activist: "The soil?"
Farmer: "The air. The grass pulled it out of the air last spring. The cow ate the grass. The cow breathed some of it back out. It went back into the air it came from."
Activist: "But it's still going into the atmosphere."
Farmer: "It's going back. There's a difference between a thing going somewhere and a thing going back. You've described a circle and you're frightened of it."
Activist: "Then just don't have the cow."
Farmer: "The grass still dies in autumn. It rots where it falls. The carbon goes back into the air either way, just without anyone getting fed in the middle."
Activist: "It's not that simple."
Farmer: "It's grass, cow, breath, grass. Or it's grass, rot, air, grass. Same circle, fewer dinners. If that's complicated for you I'd stay away from the water cycle. That one's got clouds in it."
@llerameilla At this point, the evidence indicates Trey Reed committed suicide.
I, for one, AM outraged - not by Reed's suicide, but by race-baiters trying to IMMEDIATELY turn this into some kind of race-related public discord .
@SenWarren Beef should be up. More is going into the pockets of ranchers. You should be more concerned about the packing industry if you want to tackle prices…
Please be exceedingly gracious to parents who did not make the right choices a decade ago with regard to their kids and technology. Show mercy, but also, keep in mind that the cultural dialogue has changed *immensely* in the last 5 years. Lot of parents flew blind circa 2012
@WhiteHouse Inflation is going to make all of that go away… our economy is doomed if we can’t get someone in that actually wants to help America. And no, that doesn’t necessarily mean Trump… our dollar is backed by virtually nothing now
@WhiteHouse You mean after the 14 million lost right before he took office because of the pandemic…? Too easy for these people to skew results and LOOK like they’re doing something
US employers cut 140,000 jobs in December, according to the latest jobs report. Women accounted for all the losses, losing 156,000 jobs, while men gained 16,000. https://t.co/TOTnq6YraX
It’s a shame they didn’t put sources in this article, I would have loved to see it and read up on the subject. But the media doesn’t see that as important, I’m starting to see less and less evidence to substantiate claims.
Amid the attempted coup on Capitol Hill this week, Trump's @HHSGov finalized a regulation that would permit discrimination against LGBTQ people, religious minorities and women. We will fight against this policy. https://t.co/zod5zIpmIC
Also notice how those police officers let them have access to the capital building in the first place... let’s not forget that... also, they’re faces are plastered everywhere, they’ll turn up
Our elections are important and they should be secure. Their movements to challenge the electoral votes result from the reasonable suspicion that they have to believe that this election wasn’t held properly. How is that voting against our democracy?
Tell me, who has looked into whether the votes were actually valid? I’ve seen several videos that look suspicious that should be more than enough to at least LOOK INTO IT. Is it not a priority to keep our elections safe?
I don’t give a shit if it wouldn’t have changed anything, because I’m more concerned about secure elections than I am concerned about making sure my candidate wins.
It’s January 8th, why spend tax-payer dollars to impeach him when you could simply wait it out? He didn’t win this election how will he win another in 4 years? And if that is a threat, then pick a better candidate for Democrats in the 2024 election
Also, see how the Washington Post says almost only good things about Biden and almost always some horrible stuff that Trump did? This doesn’t seem fishy to you?? The media is trying to manipulate people and they’re winning...
Is he going to call China out for their human rights violations? The growing number of detention camps in China? Sounds like a problem that would be right up his alley, I’m interested to see if he goes after this injustice
