Blake Rohrer's journey to Duke is anything but conventional.

From nearly giving up football altogether to working at a bar to winning a Division III national title, here's his journey to Durham:

Blake Rohrer has had a crazy college athletic career since being a dual-sport standout at Woodbury High School (MN).

Graduated high school in 2022 and committed to play basketball at UW-River Falls.

2022-23: UWRF basketball team (appeared in 3 games)
2023-24: UWRF football team (appeared in 1 game)
2024-25: UWRF football team (171 yards & 1 TD)
2025-26: UWRF football team (1,100+ yards & 12 TDs + a D3 national champion)
2026-27: Duke football (P4 conference WR)

One of my all-time favorite Stagg Bowl Media Day interviews I've participated in was my interview with @UWRFFootball Jr. WR @blakerohrerr. In the interview below, Rohrer tells more about his journey from high school -- not wanting to play sports in college at all -- to becoming one of the top #d3fb receivers in the country who is just one win away from a potential National Championship with his @UWRFFalcons team.

What really struck me here was his honesty and raw advice he provides to other student-athletes that may lose some of the passion for sports along the way. Blake's journey back to sports is something I wanted to share in its entirety -- and so @D3FBHuddle & I want to share his interview here for you to appreciate. Thanks to Blake for his candor, and for having some fun with us concerning his mixology from his Tarnation Tavern bartending days.
